A Two Story Brick Dwelling house with Basement Story
Situated on the South Side of E Street and west corner of E and Foushee Streets In the City of Richmond.

Of the following Dimensions 48 feet front and rear and 44 feet deep and finished as follows--

Basement Story 9 feet hight in the Clair. All the outer walls are Stript for lathing and plastering, And grounds put up to all the Doors windows, and for the washboard to receive the plastering. Joist 4 x 4 hard pine all heart and 20 in. from centres. Flooring hard pine all heart 1¼ in. thick from 5 to 6 in. wide, tongue and grooved and well nail to the Joist. The north room which is used as Storeroom has a brick floor 2 bricks thick and grouted. Washboards In Pafsage and East rooms, are 8½in. wide Including --subplinth, West room 6in. wide and beaded. Windows-- Seven 6 light boxed window frames. with sash and Glafs--14 x 22, and two 12 light do with sash and glafs 14 x 16. Sash are double hung, with pulys wgts & cord. and finished-- inside with plain splayed Jambs, sills and facias. plain pilasters 6 in. wide angle blocks and rosettes-- one outside door in rear finished with side lights 7 x 16. Square boxed jambs and pannel pedestals caps-- door six pannel 1 3/4in. thick sunk pannels and double moulded--Ten Inside Six pannel--doors, Including three Closets doors, 1½ and 1 3/4 in. thick-- sunk pannels & double moulded. All of suitable width and height and made of best white pine-- Door Jambs to Brick Partition 2in. thick to stud partition 1¼in. thick all are double rabbetted and cased on each side with plain pilaster 6in. wide angle blocks and rosettes--Two china closets in dining room 2 feet deep & whole height of story. Studed partition lined inside with poplar boards & shelved

There are short Inside folding doors to Closets comeing half way from top 1in. thick--Small locks & ketches. outside doors to Closets corisponds with room doors. One closet under Stairway formed with pannel work. Door as before mentioned.

Stairway Strait flite 4 feet wide, 10½in. tread--carriages 3 x 12. Steping of hard pine all heart 1¼in. thick steps and risers are tongue and grooved, blocked glued & screwed--skirtes and subplinths same as on washboard, well hole cased round, large mahoganey newel capt, mahoganey handrail and turned oak ballesters, plain bracketts and nosings with scotias grooved in steps-- Small room at End of pafsage is studed partition, room shelved on one side with shelves same width-- all the doors in basement story are hung with Clarks best broad but hinges. Locks are 6in. upright rim locks, except the outside door lock which is a mortice lock. all of the best American manufactory-- All the windows in Basement story has venetion shutters, hinged with the best hook and strap hinges and pattent fastening. Shutters are made mortice slats, two rear windows part rooling [rolling]--all the Basement Story Is plastered three coats, Hard finish, and a small centrepiece to cealing In pafsage. Mantles there are three marble mantles, one variegated Eqyptian marble mantle-- Painting, all the woodwork in Bt Story is painted four coats, casing and Jambs are white and outside Door. Inside Doors are grained mohoganey colour and also pannelwork under stairway. Washboards black and shutters green--

Principal Story is 14 feet high in the Clair. Outter walls are Stript for lathing & plastering. Grounds to all the Doors Windows and washboards to receive the plastering-- Joist are hard pine 3 x 12, heart 16in from (page 3) centre--Flooring Is hard pine, all heart and of the very best quality, well drefsed, tongue & grooved & well nailed to the Joist--flooring 1¼in. thick and from 4 to 5 wide. Washboards are 12in. wide Including Subplinth and Moulding. Mouldingis grecian ogee & bevel, 2in. wide. Subplinth Is tongue & grooved in plinth, well fitted and nail to the floor.-- Windows. Six 12 light boxed window frames with sash & glafs 14 x 22. Sash are double hung with pulys wts & cord. There are two 15 light window frames In rear the uper glafs 14 x 12 and three bottom panes are 14 x 26-- bottom sash comes down to the floor, runs up in boxing 2 feet 8in. which brings the lower edge of the bottom rail even with lower edge of meeting rail of the top sash. Sash hung as before mentioned windows are finished Inside with plain splayed jambs comeing to floor, pannel backs and plinth of washboard continued round recefs ½in. thick-- bead casings shows 3in. and are joined to back of pilasters. Pilasters are 8in. wide, 1½in thick double faced and finished. With Honey Suckle drops & reads--pilasters setts on base blocks same height of plinth to washboard, and has ornament composition antae cap--model tower of the wind, and suitable entablature with all its propotionable [sic] parts--the architrave moulding of which has round dentils. Two outside doors front and rear, both finished with side lights. Lights corrisponding in height with window and half the width. Jambs are square & boxed, showing 8in. wide which forms pilasters. Back door has an entablature on outside. Door is 8½ feet high 3 feet 1in. wide, 2in. thick. Six panels sunk & double moulded. Front Door is folding made with two panels in Each door, short panel at bottom and long at top. Doors are 4 feet 4in. wide 8 feet 6in. high, 3in. thick. Such panels & double moulded. Both has paneled pedestals under (page 4) side lights, and inside finish corrisponds with that discribe to windows, except entablature. Inside venetian door in Hall finished with side lights & transom doors & side light & transom corrisponds in width & height with front door. pilasters same as discribe to windows, panel pedestals under side lights. doors are folding, the bottom are panels top & side lights mortice slats. Door is 1 7/8in. thick. Transom glafs is 14 x 26, looking glafs plates, two glafs in each one.--The transom to front door is also 14 x 26 glafs. Parlour Doors. there are six parlour doors, 8 feet 6in. High and 3 feet 6in. wide. Jambs are 2in thick & double rabbetted and cased on each side with pilasters same as discribed to windows. Doors are six equel pannels and are 2in. thick sunk pannels & double moulded. there one door at head of stairway leading to basement as wide & as high as the place will admit. Door & casings corrisponds with parlour doors. there are two sets of sliding doors finished as follows. double partition of 3 x 4 scantling and one piece 4 x 6 extending cross the room to form the opening. Doors are 10 feet 10in. high and 8 feet 8in. wide. Jambs are 2in. thick bead casing on architrive 5in. wide, pilasters 12in.wide and 3in. thick. double sunk and finished with reads & honey suckle drops and antae caps same as discribed to windows but larger, pilasters sets on large base block. Entablature on each side finished with at [sic] its proportionable parts architrave mouldings of which has round dentils. Stairway 4 feet 4in. wide level landing & continued rail. Step put together same as discribe to basement flite. curtail step large mahoganey newel mahoganey rail & scrowl & turned oak ballesters noseing and fancy brackett & String board. Skirted and large base molding same as on washboard. Steps are of hard pine 12in wide. All the windows in Principal (page 5) has outside venetion shutters half mortice & half rowling slats. Hinged with best hook & strap hinges & patent fastening. All the plastering in principal story is three coats hard finish, with a handsom stokered [??] cornice containing all the regular parts as follows crown molding, fascia, curved planchair, ogee bed moulding and plain freize. The cornice in pafsage come down to top of front and venetian doors and answers as entablature for same. There is a handsome centrepiece in pafsage. Lock. All the locks in principal story are mortice locks all silver plated also the sliding door furniture. All the locks & sliding door furniture are of the best American manufactory.

Painting. all the painting in principal story are white. Doors are pollished white. Washboards marbled, all painted four coats. Venetian shutters painted green, mantles are variegated Egyptian marble.

Second Story. is 13 feet high. all the outter wall are stript for lathing & plastering ground to all the windows, doors & washboards to receive the plastering. Joist & flooring same as principal story, washboards the same as discribed in principal story. all the windows & doors are same as discribe in p-story Except the pilasters which is 1in. thick double faced & moulded. angle blocks and square rosetts. there are ten windows two of wich comes down to floor and nine doors. no folding doors--partitions dividing the rooms are of 3 x 4 scantling-- doors hinged with Clark's best broad buts. Mortice locks same as principal story but not plated. Plastering three coats hard finished. Painting same as P. story except doors which is grained curl maple. Marble mantles. There are two closet doors of which corrisponds in finish with room doors. one of the closets is used as pafsway to garret with steps. Roof. Roof joists are 3 x 8. floor laid 14 feet square drefsed and tongue & grooved. Scantling partition and lined with boards which formes a room 14 feet square, and steps to go out on the roof: Hipt roof and rafter of suitable dimensions. Shething and shingling of the best quality. roof is flat at top 14 feet square. framing rises 6in. In center shething are tongue & grooved. The flat part of roof rises 6 in above main roof and is covered with tin and has a balustrade all round. Cornice is as follows. Wood gutters 5 x 10 carry the water to each corner. Crown moulding facia & planchair all of suitable size and projections bed mouldings are turned balls, large dentils & ogee, four tin conductors. Front Portico has two large Dorick collums 24in. diameter and fluted. Entablature plain and all of suitable proportions. panneled cealing. Steps, blocking & platform are granite roof covered with tin. Back porch has four large Dorrick collums 24in. in diameter. plain entablature wood gutters, two floors of the best hard pine all heart. top flor is double cealed inside with jnd boards. Cornice finished inside with bed & architrave mouldings. fraiming to bottom floor is drefsed balustrate all round both floors with large turned balesters, and venetion shutteres at both ends with rooling slats. both porticos are painted five coats white floors lead colour, venetions green, cornice blocking & balustrade on to[p] of house are painted four coats white. roof is painted 4 coats black.

Brick work on outside is stuccoed all round with sand and cement and painted four coats white. all principal rooms has a bell, wires of which run in tubes made of coper. All the materials of said house are of the very best quality and put together in the best manner.
